Dark House

 Dark House

Address: 4 Brookbank Street. Loghallow. Shire Homestead

Prelude: There are a number of dark and spooky decorations out there that stand out from the rest. They are usually black, scary, and not quite the type that you would fit with the standard variety of landscape with nice flowers and parties. The original deluxe house that hosted these items didn't seem enough to contain them all. That's why I decided to purchase a kinhouse to lay them all this time around. Although there are quite a few that are hard to obtain in raids like Isengard and Remmorchant, the developers did manage to offer quite a bit through other sources such has the Reward Track and the Mordor barterer.

Outside

Chaos: The greenhouse decorations were probably the most annoying to figure out. The smaller version of the two does not permit you to walk inside. So, instead of sticking the larger one outside, I decided to play with the concept of a mutated tree breaking out of its exterior. The Orthanc Tower was the one good piece that fits into the Enormous Yard slot. Meanwhile, the mounted snake worked well placing on top of the roof.

Inside

Main Hall: In the entrance hangs two banners of the dead that comes from the Anniversary Event. The small throne was obtained from the Skirmish Camp. The Staged Serpent Figurehead may not fit that well in a hobbit home, but the focal point makes a nice addition with a column of smoke and Morgul clouds as ambience. Each corner has a number of various themes such as the Master of Secrets with all his notes around him, the mysterious staircase to nowhere by the fireplace, and the ominous pool with a curious bone-pile. I was able to obtain the Scholar study Set for 75% off back in 2022. Click on the decorative gourds and a ghost with a pumpkin head begins haunting the place. The Unwelcome Mats scattered about the place will spawn a ringrwaith as you step over them.

Trophy Room: Despite my best efforts, I was never able to obtain any spider web from the higher tiers. Thankfully, the Reward Track from last year supplied four nice flowing cobwebs for the door frames. Any number of decorations from the Taxidermist would have worked for this room. While happy to display the Heads of the Globsnaga Elders and The Blind One's Head, I'm sad that Caerog's Arm and the Egg of the Mistress still elude me.

End Rooms: Back in the day, Remmorchant was being ran all the time even if you were only able to take down a few bosses. Almost every week, someone was guaranteed to obtain one of the slimy larvae. A lot of players found no use in keeping such a disgusting creature and made a running joke in passing them onto me. I made use of them in one of the rooms and eluded to the new sandworms in the animal decorations from Kingdoms of Harad. Instead of using the Angmarim Greenhouse wallpaper that would have covered that entire half of the house, I slot the larger greenhouse decoration along with all the silly decorations from Harvestmath.
