Legacy of Morgoth Reputation
Legacy of Morgoth
Reputation
Task Boards: Before we get into the actual content of the regions, there needs to be a discussion over how the developers designed the various reputations. The first aspect regards the actual task boards themselves. Many people have become acquainted with the new housing task boards ever since they changed their appearance in 2021. New task quests, however, aren't always added to the housing districts right away. Ikorban Valley task boards were added a month later but a problem with the collection box wasn't corrected until three months after release.

Task Items: When the developers released Strongholds of the North, a specific type of task went to one of three different factions in the region. For Legacy of Morgoth, all task items could be turned in for all three factions. Since the Phetekâri and Adúrhid have the added bonus of reputation items, the best option for turning in tasks would be the Ikorbâni. Unfortunately, obtaining the task items was made very confusing. Task items only drop from landscape enemies. All other sources such as chests, corpses, or even enemies in missions drop other task items. To make matters worse, you will be retrieving Pitted Axes for the level 140 quest pack Gondor Renewed. All these tasks are designed as level 150 quests, meaning you can only turn them in once your character reaches level 145.

"At least we aren't running from a giant boulder." - Fred
Travel: There are four major travel points that you can easily obtain from the Ikorbani Quartermaster (three for mariners since one region is a desert). There are two more that can be obtained using raid tokens to the raid location (lower cost for certain classes) and the unusual spot for the Crown of Hamat quest pack. Perhaps the most laughable destination is the one location you have to visit for the Oasis Elves in Shonith. When the expansion released, there was absolutely no shortcuts. You had to make the trip from Jirush since there were no campfires, milestones, stable-masters, or skill ports to the destination. Milestones were added a month later.

"I don't want to leave after spending all that time getting here." - Fanrel
Faction Levels: As you venture through the regions, there are a number of reputation items you can gather on the ground. You can only begin collecting them when you reach Acquaintance standing a faction. However, you must first increase your standing through the Outsider level. This means that a player new to the region will not be able to pick any up until they do a significant portion of the quests in the region. The Phetekâri quests are located within the first region of Ambarûl. The Adúrhi quests are located in the second or third regions. One thing you can do is select a reputation scroll from completing any mission or share the reputation tokens between your characters. In addition, they introduced Reputation Enhancements so subscribers would get a boost on their alternative characters. There had to be a bunch of adjustments made in following patches, including how using alt + click for stacks wasn't calculated right in the new formula. Favored Reputation was then extended to the rest of the game with Update 44 when the quest pack was released.

"This town surely is big enough for the both of us." - Fred
Reputation Items: Through all four new regions, Ancient Relic of Ikorbân can be picked up with reputation towards the Phetekâri or Small Seed Pods for the Adúrhi. The only requirements are reaching the faction level and turning in the quest you obtain immediately following that. You must do the same when considering The Grand Relic of Ikorbân and Large Seed Pod after reaching friendly status. You don't have to dismount to pick them up, but you do have to be out of combat.
However, there is a catch. In order to open the advanced versions, you need a "key" to open them. Large Seed Pods require a Sharp Seed Husker. Meanwhile, the Grand Relic of Ikorbân requires a Well-stocked Charcoal Rubbing Kit. The only reasonable method to get these items is to trade 10 regional Shagâni Ghín tokens for three in return. The crafting recipe requires a costly amount of materials (and 5 red-stones) in exchange for five items in return. You can also "clear your wallet" of instance tokens for some spare ones too at the barterer. These items are not bound and stack to 50.
Opening these little items on the ground will provide you regional tokens, account-bound reputation tokens, and a Boaty McBoatface amount of gold from vendor trash. While you can find them scattered through the regions, one spot specifically to the west of Ilzag Khûl in the final region is a well-known secret that spawns more than a dozen of these items. It only takes them a matter of minutes to respawn.

Rewards: Things are a little bit different when it comes to this expansion. Each time you gain a new reputation level, the scholars give you a choice out of a few new possible decorations that become available on the barterer without cost. There are some very decent decorations that you can obtain from the expansion. Both lion statues are awarded through the Epic and can be found on the barterer. The Dry Hamati Fountain is awarded from its associated quest in the third region. The "open-air" reed huts are better than the standard ones since you can go underneath them. Among the housing decorations are also music theme boxes and ambient environments. Equipping any of the four Dayfiles will add the nebula you see in the expansion's night sky. There's also a couple of pets that you can barter for (and obtain more of after using one).

"I'm telling you, the sky just suddenly changed overnight." - Zans
Baubles: Although there isn't really a warning in place, you cannot barter for more baubles once your characters has used a tome. If you want your characters to learn how to use these items, have your main character be the last to use one. With how easy it is to increase your faction level and obtain regional tokens through the new areas, bartering enough baubles for six characters isn't really a big problem. I recommend the Cozy Shelter, Cozy Campfire, Illuminating Lantern, and especially the Camping Chair with the capability to using the /sit emote. I am not impressed with any of the bird calls.
Missions: As mentioned earlier, there were a few things done differently for the missions part of Legacy of Morgoth. There are 28 missions available at three different hubs. If you don't like the current half of missions for the day, come back the next day to see the rest of them. Delvings are available. This batch also has a second weekly quest for embers for completing 12 missions. Oddly enough, there are no mission-specific tokens! This means you can walk right up to the mission barterer and use your regional tokens for a decent pair of earrings for all levels. There are no associated decorations for these instances.

"Road closed." - Agazi
Deeds: Each region has their fair share of explorer, slayer, and quest completion deeds. There are various "danger" locations to discover. There is a treasure cache deed for every region. Completing the meta deed will award you the Steed of the Ikorban Valley. The number of foes you must slay are cut in half, but you only get 5 Lotro Points for each advanced deed. Yet, there are also meta deeds for completing specific types like scorpions across all the new regions. There is a special Cliff-diver deed for jumping over the waterfalls of Ambarul. There's another one for roaring at the lion statue. You do not have to be on top of the head to count.
