Missions: There were 10 missions released December 6th that supplied your character 200 Allegiance reputation tokens that were bound to your account, 1 Eagle bit, and 1 Ledger-keeper Mark. At the time, Ill-Fated Cave was the only one that didn't allow a delving stone. Though, it was very clear that "due to the tight confines of the ship, there are a group of Delving
Malices that become too unfair or unfun to warrant including Delvings in
these missions" so much that "Protecting the Sea Lanes" & "An Infestation of Crabs" had their delving stone removed in the following patch.
The Ill-Fated Cave is a rehash of your experience in Jid Phêsi, the cavern of whispers, in Dig Deep for the miners in Rakhatâb. You'll come to notice that it was giant beetles that were disturbing the mine before. A Natural Disaster is a copy of Sap for Ships and Wood for Fire daily where you defeat huorns up on a hill. All the missions are different and interesting enough to warrant a playthrough.
Instances: Because of an internal struggle to prevent their employees from leaving to World of Warcraft's new post in Boston, much of the expansion was delayed. Orion himself had to work on the raid. This caused them not to be available until March in Update 39. A lot of players were not happy to wait four months for their new instances. Unlike previous expansions where the instances were designed to be built along with the story in the quests, these were somewhat disconnected with no actual physical location to discover and unlocked at the level cap instead of an earlier level of the expansion. Isle of Storms introduces a boss immediately without any enemies beforehand, a couple of bone men that will have a casual conversation on whether the second boss is a monkey or an ape, and Raghârik which is not to be confused with Raghda-gûn from the Shield Isles questline.
The Streets of Rahal Bakh is a gauntlet where you chase after Indagir. If you haven't made the connections, he's the guy who took the viles from Return to Carn Dum Instance Cluster Remedies for Maladies, you chase after but never see in the Gondor Renewed quest in Tumladen A Trail Marked Indagir, you follow a trail of vials in Barad Faen after a man is murdered in the street, and talk with Hadorion (who followed "Kashap" from Langstrand in Shield Isles) about luring him out by putting up posters that hurt his reputation and planting fake sashes to provoke corsairs in the Gut. The crazed man ultimately decides to personally drink the poison and become the final boss of the instance.
Dahâl Huliz, The Arena was something the developers experimented with by implementing your foes with familiar class abilities. Three characters seem to be relatively exclusive to the instance: Akhmâr Redstorm, Nakrov the Scarred, and Horthion. Bhastah you challenge in the quest Strongest Among Them on the coast by Jax Phanâl. Shakfut Slit-throat is the goblin leader you capture in Get the Short One in the hills by Jax Phanâl. When you are retrieving Keteph's cruet in Infusion from the North: The Right Tool, you'll hear how the goblins raided outposts with their leader gone from Pharedar. You'll later see the goblins from Súlstrok in An Unexpected Encounter underneath Umbar trying to break him out of the arena. You might not have technically met Shaidal before the fight but you'll encounter him as a key character in Rothog's Kindred of the Coin Tale as the one who gains his freedom after capturing the beast in The Dragon and the Storm instance. Ulanor is, of course, the crazy lady from Rakhatâb who was hounding the workers there for money.
"I am Rothog, hunter of the Heirs, commander of the Gharáb-ikir, Captain of the Hêlsi, keeper of the Tor-gardens, and loyal servant to the people of Umbar!" - Rothog the Storm
Depths of Mâkhda Khorbo is the raid that takes place during the events of Chapter 8.2 in The Song of Waves and Wind. After saving Thorongil, you meet up with your companions to chase after a ship with Azagath, Belondor, and Nakási into the shadow of Mâkhda Khorbo. After the battle at the Tower of Winds crippled their ship, they flee into a smuggler's den for the Temple of the All-seeing Eye. You will first face Azagath's Sea-shadow, then Belondor who is betrayed after his crew is killed to serve as greater vassals for Azagath, and finally Umshûra the Glutton.
"Perhaps nets should have been in place for this demonstration." - Rothog the Storm
Dailies: There are a number of repeatable quests and a few hidden questlines that players might not be aware of through Corsairs of Umbar and Beneath the Surface. For starters, some quests that are marked as daily usually contribute to a weekly quest that isn't automatically bestowed.
- This does not include the luckstone and universal solvent you receive for doing the weekly guild quests in Swain Guild Hall. These quests do not require purchase of Corsairs of Umbar.
- This also doesn't include the weekly quest for completing missions.
- There are no weekly quests for the ones available at Bel Inzûl.
- You do need to obtain the weekly delving quests from the barterer inside Bloody Eagle Tavern (teleport is available for 100 delving writs).
- The Fortunes of Umbar Baharbêl - obtained from the Umbar quartermaster at the Hunter's Expedition Camp - requires you to do 16 scattered repeatable quests a week. These include four quests at the camp, two from Jax Phanâl, two from Khaphâr, and amusingly...
- The Challenges of Umbar weekly quest requires completion of six instances contained in the Corsairs of Umbar category from Bej Mâgha (teleport is available from the special Mâkhda Khorbo Quartermaster there).
- Another interesting questline involves completing the quest to retrieve
crab ingredients for Keteph. Once you complete the deed to retrieve
basic crab parts for five days, fulfill a second deed for the advanced
crab hunt for five days, and then complete the quest from the new lady
that shows up, you will be redirected to complete the Infusion from the North
questline at Swain's Guild Hall. You will need to cook two different
kinds of bread, gather some basic farming ingredients, and have people
sample them for two special cooking recipes. Four additional cooking recipes can be obtained once you reach Rank 25 for both Allegiances.
- On the western side of Dil-irmíz under Umbar is an area that offers you small fellowship quests for the Defending the Umbar-môkh weekly. In addition, there are four rare enemies that will respawn an hour after being defeated (implemented a week later in Update 40.0.1) that will provide you a red sea-stone and chance of Talisman of the Tomb-guardian, a recipe for a necklace with a special essence slot, or a necklace essence.
