What's in Your Yard?

Highlights: A comprehensive list of over 330 yard decorations

Statues: Come in all shapes and sizes. Most require some sort of reputation or festival to obtain. Some might work on the outer stone walls on a premium house. Such an example can be found at the kinhouse. The hedges from the Spring Festival work nicely only if placed together.

  • (Celebrimbor, Gil-galad, Luthien): Rivendell Valley, Allied with Elves
  • (King's Effigy, Orb and Sword): Tinnudir, Allies with Wardens of Annuminas
  • (Hailing Hero, Noble Offering, Ready for Battle, Standing Tall, The Protector): Blue Stone Garrison, Allies with Thorin's Hall
  • (Ancient Ziggurat): Harndirion in Enedwaith, Kindred with Grey's Company; Another much larger one is available for store purchase. If you ever went to the wrong island to the kinhouse, you'd bump into one.
  • (Stone Troll): Stangard, Allies with Limlight Gorge
  • (Elf Hedge, Dwarf Hedge, Hobbit Hedge, Garden, Garden-dwarf [Nice by Mushroom Ring], Majestic Shrew [Larger Than Normal]): Spring Festival
  • (Goblin Statue, Harvest, Wooden Beaver): Harvest Festival
    (Grimreaver): Moria Taxi, Skumfil
  • (Lorien Statue): Lothlorien, Friend Standing with Galadhrim
  • (Defiled Inn League Statue) Ale Association
  • (Stone Troll the First/Second/Third) Bounder's Bounty Event
  • (Watchful Raven Statue) Anniversary Event
  • (Statue of Draigoch) Rare drop off Draigoch's Lair
  • (Statue of Sauron, Statue of Sauron Shattered) Gorgoroth Steel-bound Lootbox or Tradeable with Ash
  • (Statue of Anarion[Super Larger than Expected]) Main Gate, Kindred Defenders of Minas Tirith
  • (Statue of Brand) Dale Great-Keep, Friendly Standing with Men of Dale
  • (Statue of Dain, Monument to Thorin, Fili, and Kili) Erebor, Friendly Standing with Erebor

I sure hope there isn't a Gorgon around here

Banners/Pennants: Rohan introduced these tiny flags to represent all the factions. Some can be easily obtained by the warband reward boxes. In fact, you might find them under 20 silver pieces in the Auction House since many will be searching for the War-steed cosmetic drops. They are practically worthless. For others, you need to trade the unique commodity tokens that should be probably be used elsewhere.

  • (Cliving, Eaworth, Elthengels, Faldham, Floodwend, Garsfeld, Harwick, Langhold, Snowbourn, Thornhope, Walstow): Warbands in East Rohan
  • (Edoras, Eastfold, Broadacres, High Moor, Stonedeans, Westfold): War-stead of the King's Men in Far Anorien, Ally with Riders of Rohan
  • (Anorien): Henneth Annûn or Camp of the Host, Ally with Host of the West
  • (Banner of Many Worlds) This item is received when opening a World Consolidation Giftbox‎. Though you will probably find many of these on the Auction House for around 1g each.
  • (Red/Blue Standing Banner, Red/Blue Wall Banner) Hobnanigans

Totems/Banners/Tribes: These decorations have a very unique feel to them, especially the ones from the Lossoth Tribe. A few miscellaneous banners can be gotten from other means but they don't quite belong in a yard.

  • (Bull, Dragon, Falcon, Stag, White Hand, Small or Large Uchluth Ox-shrine): Lhanuch in Enedwaith, Acquaintance [for banners] or Ally [for totems] with Algraig
  • (Small or Large Gauredain Totem, Giant Mammoth [Friendly], Frost-Antler Pole [Friendly], Frost-Antler Stand [Kindred], Lossoth Smoke Tent [Kindred]) - Suri-kyla in Forochel, Standing with Lossoth of Forochel
  • (Fire Orc Banner): Moria Taxi, Grand Stair
  • (Free People's Flag): Fall Festival
  • (Yule Banner, Yule Flag): Yule Festival
  • (Seasonal Banner) Summer Festival

Common Folk: Some items are easily obtained by the Housing at the Cape of Belfalas Homesteads, welcoming a beginner. A couple items can be paired to develop a Hobbit theme, farmer's theme, Dwarf theme, or even a more darker theme. Others will need some creativity to obtain.

  • (Brewer's or Farmer's Waggon, Hay Stook, Haystack, Master's Brazier, Small Empty Wheelbarrow or Large Empty Wheelbarrow or Wheelbarrow & Sacks, Mossy or Stone Well, Picnic Bench, Picnic Table [No Food], Stone Lilypad Tub, Wooden Cart) Homestead
  • (Small Feasting Table[Some Food], Large Feasting Table) Cook Crafting. This one actually has food on it, unlike the one from the Homestead.
  • (Cow Pen, Bee Hives, Bingo's Tub of Apples, Picnic Table[Lots of Food], Tanglemane's Tub of Apples) Bingo Boffin Questline. Amusingly, the Bee Hive gives you Drops of Honey.
  • (Chicken Coop, Produce Stall, Mushroom Ring) Farmers Faire
  • (Theatre Stage) Yule Festival
  • (Fine Boar-Droppings) Odiferous Deed/Title for completing Miraculous Growth in the Stoors of Maur Tulhau in Enedwaith 10 times. I have seen this in the AH from 20s to 400g. I fail to see why anyone would want it.
  • (Giant Pumpkin, Sundial, Scarecrow [Nice with Fields]) Fall Festival
  • (Glowing Bonfire, Smoky Bonfire, Modest Cookfire, Feast Day Cookfire, White Wicker Chair, Summer Hammock, Mossy Wicker Chair, Large Flowerbed, Small or Large Vegetable Garden, Orange or Purple Flowerbox) Summer Festival. Note that the Flowerboxes could also be obtained through the Spring Festival flower collection quest.
  • (Caerog's Arm [Recommended]), The Water Wheels: Nalâ-dûm. Because of the sheer nature of the instance requiring additional players and that it is a very rare drop to begin with, I strongly suggest showing this baby off if you have it.
  • (Clover Patch) Spring Festival, Bullroarer Challenge quest
  • (Dwarf Well) Anniversary Scavanger Hunt
  • (Large Moria Mirror, Windmill) Annivesary Event
  • (Lorien Bench, Lorien Lantern Post, Lorien Trellis) Lothlorien, Acquaintance Standing with Galadhrim
  • (Lorien Battle Standard, Lorien Lamp, Lorien Garden Gate) Lothlorien, Kindred Standing with Galadhrim
  • (Dig-Site, Trained Cave-Claw) Buried Treasure Event
  • (Moria Geode) Acquaintance with Iron Garrison Guards, Twenty-First Hall in Moria
  • (Laketown Outhouse) Dale Great-Keep, Friendly Standing with Men of Dale
  • ([Yes, I am going to include them] Standing Streamer, Seedy/Yellow/Red/Green/Blue/Broken Hobbit Waggon, White/Red/Dorking/Scrapper/Black-foot/Orange Wyandoote Lawn Chickens, Small or Large Hobnanigans Field with White/Red/Dorking/Scrapper/Black-foot/Orange Wyandotte Chicken) Hobnanigans. I think everyone dreads this event so much that they wouldn't even display these items if they got them.

Garden: This isn't your hobbit variety of a garden. We are talking a yard full of trees, bushes, flowers, and water you can drink or swim in if you prefer.

  • (Caras Galadhon Mirror) Volume 3, Book 6, Chapter 12 or Anniversary Scavanger Hunt
  • (Fox Amongst the Flowers) Milgamel Quest in North Ithilien, Camp of the Host
  • (Boar Fountain) Bounder's Bounty Event
  • (Nanu's Hiding Place) Moria Taxidermis, Filikul rare drop
  • (Ominous Pool) Moria Taxidermis, The Watcher
  • (Swan Fountain) Volume III, Book 6, Chapter 5. This item can also be traded with Stangard for a Huge version.
  • (Rohirric Fountain) War-stead of the King's Men in Far Anorien, Friend with Riders of Rohan

Don't ask me about my water bill

Sub-category Trees: There are a lot of nice trees found within the standard Homestead vendor. Yet, more of the exotic trees will be a little more difficult to obtain.

  • (Autumn Elm Tree, Birch or Four or Tall Birch, Cedar, Four Elm or Elm, Maple, Shire Oak, Spruce) Hobbit Homestead
  • (Autumn Apple Tree, Haunted) Fall Festival. The Apple Tree does come with a small bucket of apples near the base of the tree.
  • (Yule) Yule Festival Quest
  • (Ash, Cypress, Juniper, Myrtle) Herbalist at Haerondir or Camp of the Host
  • (Holly, Flet-tree) Bingo Boffin Questline. The Holly tree is unique for it plants a foundation of fallen leaves around the base of the tree. The Flet-tree has a tiny Lothlorien house built within its branches.
  • (Little Old Man Willow[Recommended]) Anniversary Scavanger Hunt

And here I was thinking I planted all Apple Trees

Sub-category Bushes: Most of the bushes will be obtained from Minas Tirith. The actual polygon design of the bushes may not be exactly appeasing to your eyes. They do still work well with certain themes. One such example is inside the kinhouse.

  • (Pink or Yellow Rhododendron) Homestead
  • (Clematis) Herbalist at Haerondir or Camp of the Host
  • (Small or Large Imloth Melui Cemenduril/White/Red/Pink Rose Bush) Main Gate, Ally Defenders of Minas Tirith

Sub-category Potted Plants: I am going to include these since they do fit inside a small yard but I recommend placing them inside a small furniture slot

  • (Potted Golden Mallos, Potted Lilies) Herbalist at Haerondir or Camp of the Host
  • (Potted Blue Hawfingers) Homesteads of Gondor Quest in Cape of Belfalas

Sub-category Hourns: Though it can be excruciating difficult doing the chains, these guys can go roughly 300g to 500g on the AH. Due to their lack of ownership, use them for personal or with a trusted friend only.

  • (Black Huorn with Honeycomb, Snowy Fangorn Huorn[Listed again under "Snow"], Fangorn Huorn) Derndingle, Ally Standing with the Ents of Fangorn Forest

Rohan: The majority of the items listed below will be available from the Hytbold vendor in East Rohan. There are a few tents that are also included in the next category.

  • (Standard or Tall Rohan Horse or Double Rohan Horse, Triangular or Tiny or Standing Rohan Fortifications, Rohan or Covered Rohan Wagon, Small or Large Rohan Barricade): Tokens of Hytbold
  • (Eorl Memorial, Rohirric Windmill, Weathered Rohirric Windmill) War-stead of the King's Men in Far Anorien, Ally with Riders of Rohan. These three items are all enormous decorations. Because of the high cost of currency, I'd only suggest getting the Eorl Memorial and obtaining the standard Windmill from the Anniversary Event.

Tents: Who doesn't like the circus? Big giant tents to fill your yard with. Pretend you are preparing for a battle (because Hobbits fight for their food).

  • (Blue & White, Red & Gold) Bree-town Hunting Lodge, Allied with Men of Bree
  • (Large Tent, Mushroom-growing Tent) Mathom-house, Allied with Mathom Society
  • (Entwash Vale, Wold, Norcrofts, Sutcrofts) Tokens of Hytbold
  • (Gondorian Army Tent) Herbalist at Haerondir or Camp of the Host

Gondor: There are only a few items that can be gathered that are Gondorian in nature that could be paired with any of the garden variety of items.

  • (Memorial Pyre) Herbalist at Haerondir or Camp of the Host
  • (Small or Double-winged Gondorian Bench, Double-backed or Long Gondorian Bench, Gondorian Well) Main Gate, Ally/Kindred Defenders of Minas Tirith
  • (Stone of Erech) Annivesary Scavanger Hunt

Sub-category Fields: These fields are technically Gondor in nature but could easily fit a more Hobbit or Farmer's theme.

  • (Small or Large Wheat/Pipeweed Fields, Large Dry Wheat Field) Main Gate, Kindred Defenders of Minas Tirith

Sub-category Huge Structures/Ruins: Not many houses come with slots to fill huge or even enormous structures. Gondor sure isn't short in stature.

  • (Dol Amorth Gazebo, Statue of the Fallen King [Larger than Expected]) Herbalist at Haerondir or Camp of the Host
  • (Round Gondorian Reflection Pool, Dol Amroth Fountain, Small Beacon of Gondor or Beacon of Gondor) Main Gate, Kindred Defenders of Minas Tirith
  • (Ruined Stone Dais) Bree-town Hunting Lodge, Allied with Men of Bree
  • (Stone Dais) Gath Forthnir in Angmar, Acquaintane Standing with Council of the North
  • (Ruined Stone Gazebo, Ruined Stone Pillars, Stone Pillars) Tinnidur in Evendim, Allies with Warden of Annuminas
  • (Stone Tower) Craft-hall in The North Downs, Allied Standing with Rangers of Esteldin

Fireworks: Generally it is a good idea to include at least one of these in your yards. It shoots off a specific color of firework when interacted with.

  • (Blue, Green, Orange, Purple, Red, Yellow) Summer Festival

Snow: There are certain Dwarf Homesteads that allow room for a snow theme. The vast majority of these items will be found during Yule Festival. They could also be paired with the Lossoth of Forochel Tribe items.

  • (Bald Snowman, Broken Snowman, Brown-capped Snowman, Snowman with a Staff, Snowman with Mittens, Top Hat Snowman, Wizard Hat Snowman, Unhappy Snowman, Snowball Arena) Yule Festival
  • (Snowy Fangorn Huorn[Larger than Anticipated]) Derndingle, Ally Standing with the Ents of Fangorn Forest

Bingo Boffin, what are you doing here?

Property Guards: About the time premium housing came out, the game started offering property guards. They come in all shapes and sizes. I suggest having at least one property guard. The problem, of course, is getting one. You can only have one property guard following you at one time but I found something interesting. They act as a pending pet so you can select them, right click their avatar, and dismiss or even rename them if you want. And yes, that name will stay with them until the end of time.

  • (Marigold, Theodore, Spalvi, Snowy Bingo Guest, Egwylf, Haley Meadowsweet) Bingo Boffin Questline
  • (Dwarf, Elf Male/Female, Hobbit Male/Female, Hound, Man/Woman, Shield-maiden, Rohirrim Knight/Archer/Warrior) LOTRO Store. Yes, we all love the hound property guard at the kinhouse.
  • (Variag) Throne of the Dread T1 Raid
  • (Dale) Dale Great-Keep, Friendly Standing with Men of Dale
  • (Fell Goat, High Elf Visitor) Gorgoroth Steel-bound Lootbox or Tradeable with Ash. The High Elf Visitor is unique for it can be placed inside, as well as outside. It carries a sword by day and a torch by night regardless.
  • (Mirkwood Soldier) Felegoth, Friendly with Elves of Felegoth

Why is everyone just standing around?

Mordor: These items are unique for they require either obtaining ash or keys for the Gorgoroth Steel-bound Lootboxes. Others require Mordor signets.

  • (Watch Cirith Ungol, Watcher Stand) - These items are more recommended to be placed inside your house.
  • (Watcher Fellbeast, Seregost Spire Windowed) Keeper of Mysteries, Magh Ashtu in Talath Urui (Or any other town in Mordor)
  • (Black Robed Statue Exterior Right/Left, Black Robed Statue Interior Right/Left, Crescent Standing, Seregost Spire) Quartermaster Conquest of Gorgorth Rewards, Magh Ashtu in Talath Urui (Or Allegiance Halls) . The interior's small size is meant to be placed inside but can be placed outside as well. It holds a small scale of flaming ash. The exterior robed statue is about two or three times the size of a standard house door. It holds a large beam of some kind that is planted into the ground. If the statues are facing you, then the item they carry will be facing in conjuction with their name right or left.

Premium: There are a few decorations that need to be bought from the lotro store. For the sake of these packages, I'll be listing outside and inside decorations.

  • Wose Housing Set -- (Happy Pukelman Statue, Wose Root Archway, Wose Garden Stones, Wose-woven Basket, Wose Light Globes)
  • Dol Amroth Housing Set -- (Canopy Reflecting Pool, Golden Statue of King Past, Belfalas Boat Post, Gondorian Wall Lamp, Potted Red Hawfingers)
  • North Ithilien Housing Set -- (Culumaida Tree, Small Cedar Tree, Terebinth Tree, Tamarisk Tree, King Crimson Tree)
  • Makeshift Mumak - This is displayed when doing the epic with the two from Ithilien in Minas Tirith.
  • Proud Swan Ice Sculpture or Bevy of Swans Ice Sculpture
  • (Farming Garden, Gondorian Supplier Horn, Ingredient Crate, Premium Ingredient Crate, Gondorian Workbench, Gondorian Study, Gondorian Forge, Gondorian Oven) Included in Crafting Update Patch

Who left the Oven on? Oh wait, that was me.

Other: Anything else that is ugly, weird, or just plain fancy goes down here.

  • (Treacherous Hole) Bingo Boffin Questline. A lot of people suggest using one of these because of its ability to port you at random.
  • (Sand Castle, Standing Stone) Anniversary Scavanger Hunt
  • (Thaurlach's Blade) The Rift of Nurz Ghashu
  • (The Skull of Thorog) Thorog in Helegrod. Though, it can also be traded with a large sum of marks and medallions at the Skirmish Camp.
  • (Memorial of the Gaunt-lord) Ost Dunhoth: Champion of the Fortress of the Western Host Meta Deed.
  • (Model of Orthanc) Tower of Orthanc: Destroyer of Rings Meta Deed
