Floor is Lava 2.0 Transcript

Decoration Ideas: There were several decorations I had to leave in. Either they were from the founding members of the kinship or rare pieces that were bound to other characters. I made sure to keep every teleporting item and added a few pieces from content that was released in the recent months. Three key pieces were donated by Lemarque and Baldural: Balrog Painting next to Bilbo Baggins (which foreshadowed the final event), Shelob Statue, and the Balrog Statue. My original idea was to have people step-up on several Fish Ponds as they reached the top, but I found it much more impactful to add the Balrog at the end of the event instead of in one of the side-rooms. The Alice room stayed close to my original design with the small exception that I did not have more of the Alabaster furniture on hand. Instead of prompting Bilbo Baggins to deliver the news at the top of the Wizard Tower, I moved him closer to the entrance. I did use all the Slimy Larvae people gave me from the Remmorchant raid. I did manage to include both of the doors from my original design, but their size made it impossible to make people elevate themselves, open them, and then fall down onto something. You can hear and see about other comments I made in the video here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1182548087.

Notes: Some things to take into consideration. Location: Tol Lochu Saerath Belfalas Housing, Landroval; Music: Wildwood; Ambience: Column of Smoke, Waterfall, Field of Embers, and Falling Petals; Wall Color: Pine Green Wall Paint. House Contest and Winners.

Story

Setting: The "adventure" that the players would take changed so many times. It remained quite similar to the first Floor is Lava game in the sense that everyone would go into both wings before climbing up to the second floor. However, the more elaborate the outer wings got, the more I realized that I most definitely could not make it a race. Many of the decorations were being tempermental and the server issues compounded the issue. So I established a more relaxed setting with a series of "chapter breaks" in the story. Due to slot limitations to how many of the guard decorations are yard slots, I removed the idea of meeting someone in the second wing and came up with "a mysterious letter" the protagonist would fine. Only when I completed decorating the kinhouse did I come up with the many character personas. You can read the full script below.

Transcript

Host: I'd like welcome everyone to -

Announcer: Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple!

Host: No! No! No! We aren't doing that right now. *sigh* As I was saying, welcome to Resolina's - Floor is Lava 2.0 - Platforming Edition. If you were here two years ago, you might recall the first time lava sprouted out from the floorboard. All the items in the house slowly seeped into the ground, including the paintings that were knocked off the walls. People would race each other as they carefully stepped over each item without touching the ground.

Host: This time around, it is going to be a tad different. There will be several rooms that will take place in a story format. Then, our announcer - to which you heard earlier - will give a list of instructions for the proceeding obstacle course where everyone will be given a set period of time to pass. Before we begin, I must warn people that there will be spooky things, scary things, icky things, and perhaps some things that will make you very angry. It is alright to leave or simply skip a segment until everyone is ready to move onto the next area. Please avoid clicking on any teleportation items like the Empty Apple Barrel, the Mysterious Door, or any of the Kegs you may see in the house. I am also choosing not to impose a penalty for touching the lava; you may decide for yourself if you want to start at the beginning of the route or pretend that little flame that shot up your leg didn't really count because the sun was in your eyes.

Host: When you are ready, please step in front of Bilbo Baggins. Are there any questions?
Alright. Everyone ready? I'm going to go ahead and get into position. Bilbo? Bilbo?

Bilbo: "Oh, hello! I did not see you all come up. I was just so absorbed reading the story in this book that I must have lost track of the time. It is about a peasant who went looking for a way to fight back against the --- The Terror! --- uh, yes, the terror that destroyed his village. He remembered something his grandfather once told him - an old woman that lived in the forest that helped them in their time of need. Perhaps you would like me to relate the rest of the story to you?

Host: At this time, I'll give you a minute to look around the next few rooms. Meet me in the left wing of the kinhouse when you are ready to continue the story.

Narrator: The hero looked all around for the old woman. The outbuilding was locked. The bedroom was empty. And she definitely wasn't using the loo. That was when our protagonist noticed something unusual. The furniture around him were floating in mid-air! Due to his curious nature, he decided to climb up to see where they would take him.

Announcer: My turn? Oh. Introducing the first Obstacle Course - A Breath of Fresh Air! Reach the woman at the top. You may begin!

High Elf: "Oh, hello! I wasn't expecting a visitor. You came all the way up here to see me? *Laugh* You didn't expect to see someone so young? Do not let my apperance fool you. I have lived here in contemplation for so many years. You remind me of someone that came here once before - a man seeking help from the village down below. He too displayed the same kind of courage - the same foolhardy nature only a young man like yourself would know."

High Elf: "You do not need to explain to me what is happening to our world. Your presence here speaks volumes. Yet, this means that time is not on our side. The answers to which you seek are contained across the valley inside what is known as The Wizard's Tower. There, you must find a close friend of mine that inadvertently spends all his days researching and experimenting anything he can get his hands on. Sneak through the lower depths of the fortress and see if he finally discovered a solution to ending our problem once and for all.

Announcer: Second Obstacle Course! A Garden Well-Lit! Open the door left of the outbuilding. Keep to the first floor of the kinhouse. Step into the grass in the right wing without touching the lava. You may begin!

Narrator: Although our hero made it inside the tower, our wizard friend curiously was nowhere to be found. All that could be seen was an old scrap of paper parched on top of a moldy chair. On it were designs of an ancient weapon that precariously hung off the side of the fortress. Within its margins were lines extending out from a crudely-drawn arrow with the words "spider," "light," and "answer." The young man then realized exactly what he had to do.

Announcer: Third Obstacle Course - A Sunny Disposition! Collect the needed essence from the spiders at the top! Please make note that the top part of the bookcases are slightly higher than what you can see. You may begin!

Host: Everyone ready? Now that we collected the essence from the spiders, you may now follow me back to the stairs leading to the second floor.

Narrator: Oh no! Look! Quickly everyone! Circle around him and ---

Announcer: Fourth Obstacle Course - Piercing the Shadow! Reach the top and fire the weapon! You may begin!
